What physical AI is

Two ways AI meets the physical world

Physical AI is artificial intelligence that can perceive, understand, reason about and interact with the 3D world, subject to gravity, friction, geometry and continuous time.

Actuated physical AI

Machines that move and manipulate the world: humanoids, quadrupeds, mobile robots, cobots, drones and vehicles. They close the full loop from sensing to motor action.

Perceptive physical AI

Devices that sense the world and guide people: smart glasses, XR headsets and wearables. They see from your point of view, and you are the actuator.

Sense · Think · Act

How each kind of device closes the loop

Pick a device class to see how it moves through the physical feedback loop.

Perceptive physical AI · egocentric

1 · SenseSee what you see
  • First-person camera
  • Microphones and IMU
  • Spatial mapping (SLAM)
The same perception pipeline a mobile robot uses.
2 · ThinkUnderstand the task
  • Object and part recognition
  • On-device and cloud AI agents
  • Your manuals and data
Low-latency models on a neural processor in the frame.
3 · GuideYou are the actuator
  • Heads-up steps and overlays
  • Voice answers in your ear
  • Remote expert view
Glasses have no motors: the person acts on the guidance.

ExamplesAI smart glasses, display glasses and XR headsets for maintenance, logistics, training and events.

Where AOP fitsGlasses assistants that guide workers hands-free, and first-person capture that becomes training data for robots.

Biometric and kinetic physical AI

1 · SenseRead the body
  • Motion and posture
  • Heart rate and biosignals
  • EMG muscle signals
Proprioceptive and physiological data, all day.
2 · ThinkInterpret state and intent
  • Fatigue and safety models
  • Gesture and intent detection
  • Personal baselines
Small models tuned to one person, on the device.
3 · AdaptAssist or actuate
  • Alerts and coaching
  • Haptic feedback
  • Powered exoskeleton support
Exosuits and haptic gloves cross into robotic actuation.

ExamplesSmartwatches, rings and AI pins; haptic gloves for robot teleoperation; EMG wristbands; powered exoskeletons.

Where AOP fitsApps and agents that turn wearable signals into coaching and safety, and motion capture that teaches robots.

Actuated physical AI · full actuation

1 · SensePerceive the space
  • RGB-D cameras and LiDAR
  • IMUs and force-torque sensors
  • Microphones and touch
Sensor fusion and SLAM tell the robot where it is.
2 · ThinkReason about the world
  • Vision-language-action models
  • World foundation models
  • Conversational AI agent
Runs at the edge, because physics will not wait for the cloud.
3 · ActMove and manipulate
  • Motors, joints and grippers
  • Walking, rolling, flying
  • Voice, screen and gesture
Model output becomes motor torque and joint paths.

ExamplesHumanoids, quadrupeds, autonomous mobile robots, cobots, surgical arms, drones and vehicles.

Where AOP fitsThe conversational layer: voice, persona, memory and task reasoning that turns a spoken request into a safe robot action.

The shared stack

One stack for robots, glasses and wearables

Spatial and multimodal perception

Real-time streams from cameras, LiDAR, IMUs, microphones and force or biometric sensors. Glasses and wearables use the same sensor fusion and SLAM pipelines as mobile robots.

World models and edge compute

Models that understand 3D geometry, object permanence and physics, running with very low latency on robot compute modules or neural processors in glasses.

Closed-loop action and the data flywheel

Robots turn model output into motion. Glasses and haptic wearables capture people doing real tasks from a first-person view, and that data trains the next generation of robots.

What we build

Conversational AI for robots

The robot platform handles balance and motion. We give it the voice, memory and judgment to work with people.

Voice and persona

A branded AI persona with natural speech, turn-taking and personality, built on our AI persona stack.

Memory and context

Remembers people, places, past conversations and the task at hand, within the privacy rules you set.

Task reasoning and tool calling

Agents turn a spoken request into robot actions through ROS 2 and vendor SDKs, with guardrails on what the robot may do.

Multilingual and multimodal

Speech in many languages, plus gesture, gaze, screens and the robot's own cameras as inputs.

Safety and human in the loop

Confirmations before physical actions, safe zones, and handoff to staff or teleoperation when the robot is unsure.

System and fleet integration

Connects robots to CRM, ticketing, inventory, calendars and analytics, so conversations turn into real work.

Robots

Embodied AI that works alongside your people

Humanoid and quadruped platforms, autonomous mobile robots, cobots and ROS-based custom builds.

Humanoid hosts and greeters

Robots that welcome visitors, answer questions, give directions and book demos, with a persona designed for your brand.

Quadruped security and inspection

Autonomous patrols that read gauges, spot open doors and hazards, and report with photos and voice.

Cobots: pick, pack and sort

Vision-guided arms and mobile cobots for warehouses, labs and light assembly, supervised by your team.

Autonomous helpers

Mobile robots for inventory, delivery, wayfinding and guided tours across sites.

Telepresence and remote expertise

See, move and talk through a robot from anywhere, so the expert does not have to travel.

Brand robots for events

Robots that perform, demo and collect leads at shows, with character and content designed by us.

Wearable AI + glasses

Physical AI you wear

Smart glasses see from your point of view and guide your hands. Wearables read motion and biosignals, and haptic gloves and exosuits cross into actuation. Together they are also the bridge for training robots: first-person video and motion data from people doing real work feeds robot learning.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you build the robot hardware?

No. We work with leading humanoid, quadruped and cobot platforms and build the conversational AI, apps and integrations on top.

Do we need to buy hardware first?

No. Discovery and the first prototype use our devices. We recommend hardware once the use case is proven.

Can it run offline?

Yes. Perception and many models run on-device; cloud is used only where it adds value and connectivity allows.

How do you handle privacy and camera data?

Processing can stay on-device, nothing is used to train models without your agreement, and retention is set per project with your privacy team.

Can agents connect to our systems?

Yes. Agents call tools: ticketing, inventory, CRM, calendars or your own APIs, with permissions you control.

Typical budget and timeline?

Prototypes start in the low five figures and ship in 4 to 6 weeks. Pilots and deployments are scoped after discovery.
